The Supreme Court Counting Book

I have been an errant blogger over the past few weeks as my family explored Tetons and Yellowstone in our little RV. We had a blast. My 6-year-old liked the geysers, and my 4-year-old loved all of the buffalo.

On Monday, I plan to post about the most recent issue of the Journal of Appellate Practice and Process, which should be hitting your emails soon.  But today I wanted to share about my newest book, which might be interesting to some of you–The Supreme Court Counting Book

When my oldest was a newborn, I discovered that there were not a lot of children’s books that explained (well) what lawyers do. I decided that I would take my experience teaching and writing about appellate advocacy and start writing a few children’s books.  I originally planned to do an ABC book (and I still plan on getting that done!), but after my youngest struggled with counting, I thought that a counting book would be a great place to start.  The Supreme Court proved to be perfect subject for the book, since several numbers between 1 and 10 are important to the work it does!

I was able to team up with a great illustrator and publishing company to make the book a reality. And I learned a lot in the process, both about the Court and about publishing. I hope that you enjoy it!
